Adult Family Homes (AFH) play a vital role in Washington State's long-term care. There are over 4,700 adult family homes across Washington State providing round-the-clock care to more than 16,000 seniors, and relieving a tremendous burden for thousands of families.
We offer short and long-term-stays for those requiring help with with activities of daily living, memory care issues, hospice care services, and those needing to follow a specific care plan. We also offer respite care for those with temporary needs.
If you are unsure of the type of care you or your loved one needs, call us! We welcome the opportunity to discuss your personal needs and current situation to further determine if being at Cascade View is the ideal solution.
Our staff prepares and serves three meals per day with various snacks readily available, however, because seniors have nutritional needs that are different from those of other groups, and many seniors require special diet plans to avoid ingredients that interact with medications, exacerbate medical conditions, or lead to digestive issues, we take food preparation very seriously and will cater to the specific needs of our residents.
In addition to all mandates by the state of Washington, we provide continued education and training, clinical care protocols and multiple quality assurance measures to reinforce our strong standards. Our training programs include classroom instruction, hands-on training, personal instruction from facility administrator and senior staff, online training, and employee shadowing
We welcome the opportunity to help in developing individualized care plans for each resident that details specific needs and safety concerns. If falling is a concern, the care plan may include interventions and special precautions to help address this issue. Many of our daily activities and programs offer exercise sessions that focus on strength and balance in hopes of reducing the risk of falling.
If your loved one is located locally, we welcome the opportunity to visit and assess their current condition, review their medical history, and discuss concerns and possibilities. If you prefer to visit and tour our location and discuss possibilities, that's great! We will discuss personal preferences and normal routines to better develop a custom care plan tailored to the specific needs of your loved one. In time, as needs and concerns change, we can update and modify the care plan as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Yes, absolutely! Medication management and reminders play a critical component to all personalized care plans. Residents and families can use the pharmacy of choice. If local, our staff can assist with picking up necessary medications.

No, absolutely not! We believe in a family’s right to choose. Yes, absolutely. In addition to directly supporting our residents, we also welcome the opportunity to support our families. Short-term stays or respite care is a convenient option when planned or unforeseen circumstances occur such as a family vacation or recovery from an illness. Similarly, some residents may only need to stay at Cascade View for a short period of time while recovering from surgery, injury, or illness.
All rooms and common areas are fully furnished. Our goal is for your loved one to feel as comfortable and "at home" as much as possible. If there is a particular piece of furniture, such as a recliner, that helps facilitate personal comfort, we welcome the opportunity to accommodate. However, we do need to be practical and limit the size and number of pieces.
Maintaining a house, driving, and living independently means a lot to seniors, and we understand that suggesting a living transition can be very challenging. Your loved one can feel you are working to take away their personal independence. The good news is that relocating to an adult family home, a much smaller and more intimate setting offering relationship-based care, tends to be much more palatable as compared to a larger and formal living facility. Needless to say, our staff welcomes the opportunity to discuss this dynamic with you and your loved one to further underscore our role is supporting them any way possible.
The privacy and discretion of you and your loved one is of utmost concern. We adhere to all applicable federal and state guidelines related to privacy of personal information. Such discretion starts from the point if intake, to our in-home Assessment, to when a formal services agreement has been established, during full term of care being rendered and beyond.
