What is the difference between an adult family home and an assisted living facility?

Both facilities are very much alike. However, there are two things that differentiate one from the other – the size of the facility and the cost. Assisted living facilities are much larger in size, typically ranging from 50 - 250 residents. Adult family homes are much more personalized and intimate, often ranging from 3 - 6 residents.

What is the difference between an adult family home and a traditional nursing home?

Nursing homes typically provide round-the-clock acute skilled care versus an adult family homes offering daily supervision and assistance with daily living, such as bathing, eating, mobility, and more.
